        – Well I have to say, I’m not too sure spring has sprung yet in seattle. We still have a lot of root veggies going on at the market, but I loved this post. Sometimes certain lines from boek/sevon the newspaper strike me — other times, like last night, I make a pretty perfect cake and the science behind the whole thing kind of blows me away. Geekiness confirmed. Miss you!

I just ordered a bunch of these units http://www.amazon.com/DROK-Step-down-Converter-Regulator-Electromobile/dp/B00VUHVX6W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462840669&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=drok+voltage+regulator+constant+current&psc=1 and haven’t been able to get any of the ones I’ve tested to work. The voltage regulation seems to work fine. When I connect my multi-meter in 10A current mode to the output the current initially reads somewhere around 3.5 Amps. As soon as I start to turn the pot counterclockwise to decrease the current, the output starts to jump around and settles at 4.4Amps. No matter which direction I turn the CC pot or how much I turn it, the current output does not change at all. I am using a 5.7 battery as the supply and trying to step it down to 3.3V with a current output max set to around 1.2 Amps. Am i doing something incorrectly or did I just buy 22 of the wrong thing? Or are a bunch of the units defective and I just haven’t gotten to a good one yet?

        Hi,
I have discovered the issue. On the Amazon listing and on your website you list this product as having a minimum input voltage of 4V. However after I looked up the datasheet (http://i-makers.info/resource/XL4015%20datasheet.pdf) for the regulator you have on-board, that part is listed as having 8V minimum input voltage. So your incorrect listing mislead me into buying 22 of this part which does not work with my 6V input voltage and is now useless for my project needs. Please fix your listings for this part or other people will run into a similar frustration.

        • Plamena May 10, 2016 at 2:24 am - Reply

Furthermore, I am noticing in your Amazon store that you have a few other listings stating incorrect information about the regulator used. In looking at the photos of your products you seem to be using the XL4015 regulator in a few of your devices where you state the specs for other regulators. This is major false advertising and incredibly frustrating.

    Hi There,

I’m a newbie to electronics and I’m learning to teach my 8yr old son. With the help of breadboards, I’m in the process of conducting experiments with him on Diodes and Transistors for which I need a variable voltage source. I searched on Amazon and thought this unit (DROK® LM2596) would be a good and I bought it (My amazon order is 104-0300285-9023436). Along with this, I bought quite a few digital voltmeter, ammeter … etc.

The experiments that I will be doing with him are very academic in nature as I want him to learn the basics. Would this be a good choice for my need.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      Hello Gopinath Rajee,
      Thank you for writing in.
Since there are limited information of your application, such as the input voltage/current, the output voltage/current, the working environment,
it is hard for us to ensure if the product is suitable for your application or not.
Here are the parameters of this product:
      Parameters:
Input voltage: 5-32.0V (we suggest you to leave margin)
      Output voltage: 0-30.0V
Output current: 1.5A Max (please enhance cooling when > 1.5A)
      Output power: 30W Max
      Output voltage preset resolution: 0.1V
      Voltage testing accuracy: +/-(1%+2 digits)

      Wiring connection:
      IN+: connect IN+ to your Input +
IN-: connect IN- to your Input –
      Out+: connect OUT+ to your output +
Out-: connect OUT- to your output –

      How to use:
      1. ON/OFF is the output voltage control button. when connect the power supply, the default option is to turn on the output voltage. press the button will turn off the output voltage. then press it again can turn on the output voltage again, followed by recycling.
      2. The two buttons named IN & OUT (which are on the left of the digital display) can switch between current input voltage and output voltage.
      3. SET key is to set the output voltage. Press SET shortly, the decimal place of output voltage flashes. press the two buttons named + & – to increase or decrease the value, thereby setting the decimal place of output voltage. after select the required value of decimal place, press SET again and the integral place of output voltage starts flashing. with the same two buttons can set the required value by using the same method. when the required value is set, press the SET to quit setting. if you don’t press the SET key, the setting will be automatically quitted after 6 seconds and the item will store the current setting value.

      Note:
      1. Please make sure that you use this module within its working range; do not output short-circuit or charge the battery, otherwise the board would burn.
      2. When you set the parameter, please use the module after you make sure output voltage is stable to avoid any possible damage.

      Hope this can help you.
      Best regards

I recently purchased DROK Stable DC-DC30-60V 48V to 24V 10A 240W Buck Power Converter Waterproof Non-isolated Synchronous Step-down Voltage Regulator Volt Power Supply Transformer.

I want to use it to step down the voltage going to a contactor operating at 24V dc.

Input to the converter is from a PV / Inverter system bus bars where the operating current can go up to 200Amps.

The output current from the converter is some how negligible since it’s just to operate the Contactor dc coil.

Confirm that the converter will work in such configuration.

    • Drok December 23, 2016 at 10:02 am - Reply

      Dear ABEL,
      Thanks for your message.
Does your PV/ Inverter system output constant current?
If it doesn’t, our converter can work, on condition that the output voltage of your PV is within DC DC30-60V.
      Hope this would be helpful.

On your listing of DC-DC 8A Buck converter offered through amazon.ca and amazon.com have listed detail mounting interface for stabilivolt tube of 12V fan installation. But received a version that doesn’t have that interface which i wanted that interface for a project. On the PCB printed with ZS-PD8A and have a transistor/regulator type at the input end. Seem a little misleading.

I was just looking at the list of DC Buck Converters. Please add a column to the table and put a part number in it for each item. That would make it much easier to discuss issues in the forum by referring to a part number. How many times have you had to ask for additional information or description of an item before you can respond? A simple part number would really help!
